This is the title track to the film of the same name by Saltwater Collective. (www.mindsinthewater.com) It was written after a paddle-out memorial ceremony for the thousands of Dolphins and Whales that are slaughtered every year in Taiji Bay, Japan. Sol and OJ were part of the ceremony with 20 other active global citizens with the intention of shining a light on the blood red waters of these bays. These events are also featured in the Oscar winning documentary called The Cove by the Oceanic Preservation Society. (www.opssociety.org)
lyrics
Minds in the water
A circle of hearts and minds in the water,
Brothers and sisters, sons and daughters,
Come together to honour the oceans.
We give our respects and offer these flowers,
Bring on the dawn from the darkest hours,
Shine on the light on the colours of these waters.
Now is the time to know the minds in the water,
Now is the time to hear the songs of the sea.
Yes I believe that all life is equal,
All that exists is not just for people,
So we stand and defend as Our Planets Keepers,
We make our future as we make our choices
We have our two hands, two feet and our voices,
Action speaks louder than word and thought,
Future generations need our support.
Well the time has come. The time has come.
The time has come. The time has come.
Rise up. The time has come.
The time has come. The time has come.
Yeah you and me.
Now is the time.
Come together.
Come together.
